History and Architecture:
Formerly a Free Presbyterian Church built of bluestone with free stone dressings. The facade incorporates a projecting buttressed porch and three light window with geometric tracey flanked by the octagonal base of a projected tower.
A wall plaque in part reads, " The Parish was formed in 1855. The first church was obtained later that year in Inkerman Street East but in June 1857 the congregation moved to 23 - 29 Alma Road. A manse was built at 88 Alma Road in 1858 (reconstructed in 1938) and this church building was opened to public worship on 17th January 1864. The Architect was Lloyd Tayler and the builder was B Williamson and the cost was £1,525.
