A Foundation stone reads, " Church of St Thomas Aquinas This Foundation stone was blessed and laid by Most Reverend James Duhig D.D. KCMG Archbishop of Brisbane on 13th March 1960. Rev A.J. Hogan P.P.".
A further foundation stone reads. Church of St Thomas Aquinas A.M.D.G. Memorial to the Members of the Royal Australian Air Force who died in the service of God and their Country Greater Love than this no Man hath that a Man lay down his life for his Friends".
