History and Architecture:
The Church is the earliest Baptist Church established in NSW. The first Minister of the Church in 1836, known then as the Bathurst Street Baptist Church, was Rev. John Saunders who came from England to minister to the new and pledging congregation. The existing building was erected in its present location in 1937.
A Foundation stone reads, " To the Glory of God this stone was unveiled by Rev Henry Clark first Commissioner of the Baptist Church House on behalf of the Baptist Union of New South Wales on September 19th 1936. Rev A Driver President".
