History and Architecture:
On 27th May 1928 a meeting took place in the Cameron home consisting of the Catholics of Toongabbie, Monsignor O’Gorman of Parramatta and Father Furlong where they decided to raise funds to purchase a block of land for a Church.a meeting took place in the Cameron home consisting of the Catholics of Toongabbie, Monsignor O’Gorman of Parramatta and Father Furlong where they decided to raise funds to purchase a block of land for a Church.
On 11th March 1962 work commenced on building the current church.
A wall plaque reads, " St Anthony's His Eminence N.T. Cardinal Gilroy Archbishop of Sydney blessed and opened this Church on 3rd February 1963. Toongabbie Pastor Leslie Bagot". A further wall plaque reads," Refurbished 15th October 1995 Consecrated by Bishop Bede Pastor Rev Bill Moore".
