History and Architecture:

The Foundation stone was laid on 21 August 1948 by Reverend R.D. Doust President of the Conference.

The first church was opened May 1865. The second church foundation stone was laid on 24 May 1876 by Edward Holloway of Tooyal and opened on 18 Mar 1877 on corner of Johnston & Fitzmaurice streets, The architect of the current church was N W McPherson and the church was opened on 22 Oct 1949.

Organ:

Built in 1927 by T.C. Edwards for original church at the corner of Fitzmaurice & Johnston Streets. Rebuilt and moved to the present church 1948-49 by S.T. Noad. It was enlarged in 1972 (addition of Mixture III) by Ian D. Brown. It has 2m., 13 sp.st., 6c., el.pn. Gt: 8.8.8.4.III. Sw: 8.8.8.8.8. Ped: 16.8. Electronic now in use with speakers mounted in pipe chamber.
