History and Architecture:
In the early 1860's it was felt that a church should be built and a start was made when Mr Isaac Shepherd gave two acres of land and £10 towards the building of a new Church. In addition, the families of Mr Wm Christie, Mr James Christie, Mr George George and Mr Robert Collins enthusiastically co-operated and a start was made on the new building. The Church was opened on Sunday, 2nd April, 1865.
The Chapel was a weatherboard building, lined with pine, and with a shingle roof. These shingles were still in place when the building was eventually demolished.
