The Church was designed by the architect, Mr N W McPherson. The builder was Mr A J Avery, a church member and Sunday School teacher. The building was constructed of brick and was completed in 1931 and officially opened on October 3 that year. The Church is now a School under the Amitabha Foundation.

‘Rev. John Fogarty was appointed resident priest in 1894, and built an iron church (the ‘tinny’) in 1894, which was replaced by a brick church-school in 1912. The Sisters of Mercy arrived in 1896 to conduct school in the ‘tinny’. A fine brick Romanesque church was opened at West Wyalong on 21 July 1929 under Rev. Garrett Shannon.’
